Lavande Cottage is a pretty, one bedroom cottage in the department of the VENDEE, situated in a small hamlet just a couple of kilometres west of Maché and very close to the Lac d’Aprémont. It is in a very quiet and peaceful area, surrounded by farm land. It is also just a short distance to either Aprémont, or to Aizenay where there is a large supermarket and other facilities. The lake shore can be accessed by a short walk from the property, or by travelling to Aprémont where, at the barrage, there are some boating and bathing facilities. The wonderful Vendéen beaches are about a 30 minute drive away, and there are also golf and horse-riding facilities nearby. If you want to explore the many local cycle-ways there are bikes to hire, complete with helmets & fluorescent gilets, just a few 100 metres up the road at Le Verger.

 

The cottage is a 200 year old "Vendéen Long House" and boasts a large lounge with dining area, complete with log burner for those chilly days. It also has a DVD player, UK and French Satellite TV with a PVR, so you dont even have to miss those favourite TV programs! There is also free Wi-Fi available from the owners house across the road, so that you can keep up to date with your emails. It also has a well equipped galley kitchen, with cooker, fridge-freezer, microwave and dishwasher.

 

There is a large double bedroom, with access direct to the patio and garden. Also leading off this bedroom is a small dressing room/office. A Cot, High Chair and Play-pen are also available. It is ideally suited for just a couple, or a couple with a baby or young child.

 

The bathroom has a full size bath complete  with shower unit, wash hand basin and a washing machine. There is a separate toilet.

 

There is a large, private garden, with patio area complete with garden furniture and a barbecue. There is ample off road parking on a hard standing in the garden. The garden is enclosed and suitable for a small dog.

 

The village of Maché, which the centre is being extensively remodeled, has a Church, Boulangerie, Mini Supermarket, 2 Bars, Hairdresser, Garage, heated swimming pool (summer only) and an Internet Café. There is a selection of restuarants nearby. There is also a Doctors Surgery and a Nurse's Clinic in the village.
